Zero Lead

In California going "green" isn't just a trend... it's a responsibility!

Stainless Steel Faucets from Fisher Manufacturing.

Beginning in January 2010, California State Law required that ALL faucets be replaced with “Lead-Free” compliant products.

The California law that was passed is Assembly Bill 1953 (AB1953). It lowers the amount of lead that a faucet may be comprised of from 8% to less than 0.25%. Unless recently replaced, after January 2010, all California schools, businesses and homes will have faucets that are effectively obsolete due to the new law’s strict requirements.

Fisher Manufacturing was the first and only California company to carry these products. Our complete line of Stainless Steel, 100% lead-free and 100% recyclable faucets are available, and will prevent the spread of toxic lead throughout our environment.

Why Stainless Steel?

Stainless Steel is an Environmentally Green Material...
  • Stainless Steel is 100% recyclable. Additionally, an average Stainless Steel object is composed of nearly 60% recycled material, 25% of which comes from “end-of-life” products and 35% coming from manufacturing processes. [Wikipedia]
  • Our Stainless Steel is lead free, which goes above and beyond the requirements set by California’s new law, AB1953.
  • Other products such as copper based materials, might not contain lead, but they still require plating that requires the disposal of heavy metals, acids and other harmful chemicals.
  • We could have used a special coating process to coat the insides of our faucets and essentially mask or block the lead, which is technically considered legal. Over time, lead may penetrate this coating and end up in your water. Plus, using faucets with lead means the harmful toxin is still being mined, smelted, and introduced into our environment!

Using Stainless Steel in our lead-free compliant faucets was the clear choice for Fisher and the environment
